Tribune's Halloween Fiction Competition

The Office of the Fiction Tribune is putting out a Halloween competition for all those interested. For this competition, you will be asked to write a short story (5 pages or less) about a DB Halloween party. Who will have the scariest costume this year? All entries will be marked by the Fiction Tribune, so Fiction Staff are allowed to participate. Extra points will be given out for scarier costumes. The scariest costume will be posted when the winners are announced. Third-level Crescents will go to the top three entries.

Please send all entries to dbfictiontribune [at] gmail [dot] com with the subject line Halloween Competition. Include your ID line and dossier number in the body of your e-mail. All submissions are due by Sunday, November 5.

Good luck to everyone who participates!

October MTs

Alright, the October Monthly Topics are here. Apologies for the delay - RL snuck up on me.

This month's topic is "The Cult". A group of religious fanatics has sprung up in your Clan's home system (or for DC members or Rogues, a system that has some kind of meaning to you personally). Your Summit has assigned you to infiltrate this group and either destroy it yourself or return with information so that Clan forces can eradicate it.

Your submission can describe any aspect of the story - your own exploits, something about the fanatics, bystanders in the conflict, or whatever else catches your fancy. It will be entirely up to you to describe the nature of the religious movement. (Hint: Poetry entries might be done in the form of hymns or chants that the fanatics use.)

Fiction: Short story, minimum of 1.5 pages in 12-point Arial or TNR, or equivalent.
Poetry: Freeform.
Graphics: Freeform, though not exceeding 640x480 in size for the sake of ease of transport.

All written submissions must be in .doc or .rtf. Graphics submissions may be in any common file format (GIF, JPG, PNG, etc).

Submissions will be due November 4 to make up for the delay in starting the competition. All submissions should be sent to dbfictiontribune [at] gmail [dot] com with the subject October MT Submission. Your ID line and PIN must be included in the body of the e-mail when you submit. Any submissions not following this format will be deleted.

Good luck to everyone. September MT results will be out by the end of the weekend.
