An Update
Wow, what an imaginative title for this entry. First, here's an update on the Fiction Tribune projects:
- The Fiction Staff position has been approved and people have been appointed. Congratulations go out to OPM Sithspawn, KP Windos Bruth'Kothae and OT Draken-Korin Vasarius Romanae.
- The Fiction Archive has gotten off the ground with my initial call for submissions. Only a couple of people have sent their stuff in so far, but hopefully that number will increase. Send all submissions to dbfictiontribune [at] gmail [dot] com. Guidelines are in my previous post. OPM Sithspawn will be the project manager for the Archive.
- Details of the Fiction Showcase are slowly being decided upon. At the moment, the Showcase will be a bi-monthly compilation of fiction from around the Brotherhood designed to show off the writers that haven't already been presented publicly - that is, haven't won awards for their writing or had it published in the DV. More details to come on this. OT Draken-Korin will be the project manager for the Fiction Showcase.
- The Writer's Corner is currently in limbo. I will be discussing this with Anshar to get it moving properly again. For the moment, please hold off on any submissions. When everything is set up again, I (KPN Erinyes) will be the project manager for the Writer's Corner.
- The Fiction Tribune webpage is coming along, with coding by KP Windos (who I keep mistyping as "Windows", please forgive me) and graphics by DA Dalthid. A link will be posted here when everything's ready. KP Windos will be the project manager for the Fiction Tribune site.
- The Google Groups user's guide has been submitted for review and approval.
- The Combat Basics course is coming. As a disclaimer, this course is not an ACC guide as some people have suggested. It is intended as an overview of the basic mechanics of personal combat. Official ACC guides are written only by the ACC Staff with the Combat Master's approval. Now, there's nothing saying you can't apply the knowledge in Combat Basics to the ACC, but again, it is not an offical ACC guide, mostly because I don't want to get in trouble with the ACC. There may be a Writer's Workshop about the ACC contributed by the ACC Staff, but no actual plans have been made for this.
- For the sake of blowing my own horn, I won second place in the Pre-GJW ACCLive! Special this past weekend. Go me. :P
