Activities of the Fiction Tribune

Alright. Since I haven't actually discussed this at length with Jac and Goat, this is just a tentative collection of exactly what a Fiction Tribune does with her day.

• First and foremost, she fights with her blog to get the right font settings for her posts.
• Monthly Topics: As far as I know, I will be taking these on from now on, both fiction and poetry, and possibly graphics. As I announced on the DB news page, there won't be a montly topic for May, due to the ongoing Feuds and GJW.
  
• Writer's Corner: I'll be speaking with Kaiann about exactly what he wants to do with this. Since it seems to make sense for the Fiction Tribune to work with it, I'll probably take it over, but I don't want to set anything in stone just yet. If (when) I do end up working with the Writer's Corner, there may be some large revamps coming through.
• Fiction and Poetry Competitions: Aside from the monthly competitions, my goal will be to run one or two other competitions a month that will be accessible to the Brotherhood. In Vendetta months, of course, I'll just do the MTs. DJM Alanna has gracefully lent me her experience from her time as KHP, so I have a few ideas for those competitions already, but I would welcome more feedback.
• A fiction archive. Goat and I have batted this idea back and forth and I think it's a good one. One of my projects will be to design and maintain a repository for all Brotherhood fiction, or at least, all fiction that's submitted to me. This will serve as a kind of counterpart to the DV.
• Assisting Other Competitions and Projects: Since I do a lot of the fiction-type stuff, my job fits in quite well with what the Lord Hegemon does. Not only that, but I imagine I'll be recruited to grade fiction, poetry and run-ons in Vendetta events.
  

So, having put all that out there, what am I looking to accomplish in the next couple of weeks?

• A webpage: I'm fairly inept with HTML and have no talent at all with graphics. I will likely be putting an announcement out on the DB news page requesting a graphics and web designer. If you do apply to be the web designer, be warned, I'll likely put you in charge of maintaining the page.
• A thread on the Forums: This will be two threads, actually. The first will be asking about what competitions you'd like to see, and the second will be a general commentary on the state of fiction in the DB (what a can of worms that'll be).
• Fiction Tribune Staff: Please note that at the moment, there are no "official" staff positions for the Tribunes, except Telona's DV Staff. Nonetheless, I will likely be looking to unofficially recruit one or two people to help me with these crazy projects I have in mind. If/when we get formal Tribune Assistant (or whatever) positions, I'll likely be filling those.
